We often think of Spring as the season for renewal or rebirth. But really, any season change brings a fresh vantage point for people as we reset routines, watch the changes in daylight, nature, schedules and hobbies. We can always find opportunities to reset.
Autumn equinox is a day of equal balance of light and dark, and a transition into shorter days, cozier nights. It encourages pause, acknowledgement, and release. It asks us to root and ground, slow down, and do some introspective work.
Letting go of attachments, or unnecessary worry or weight opens up space for new perspectives, relationships, or hobbies.
We can renew our pallet for seasonal foods to nourish our body through the shorter days and changing temperatures.
Adding a practice of daily gratitude during this season can embrace more than just the day or weekend of Thanksgiving, renewing our grateful hearts.
We can refresh our love for the things we abandoned during the busy and bright summer season.
This week, we find a sense of renewal on our mat. A deep community breath of gratitude for the people, the able bodies, and the time we choose to spend together.
We are ever-changing beings and that can be a beautiful thing if we let it be.
A mantra for the week:
I am becoming.
Because we are always becoming.
