Releasing. Letting go. Sounds so easy!
We all have a tendency to hold on tight to old habits, friendships, expectations, or a shirt that is a perfectly good shirt but we still never choose to wear it.
These things that don't suit or serve us any longer continue to take up space in our world, leaving no room for fresh and new.
A cluttered closet makes it hard to see what you actually have to choose from, a mind full of old ideas doesn't leave much room for creativity or a fresh perspective, and a friendship that supports an old lifestyle holds you back from fully embracing your new life chapters.
We tend to hold on to what we know because it's comfortable, and the unknown creates a lot of anxiety. But if we actually take the TIME to process our growth or life changes, we start to see the beauty of releasing! Time, such a coveted resource, helps us release physical and emotional tension and baggage, it helps us evaluate change, and it helps us formulate new ideas and let our creativity brew.
Time on your mat is a great place to release the hips, a common dumping ground for a lot of our tension. It also gives the mind a break from the outside influences that cloud our ability to listen to ourselves, physically and mentally. Give yourself permission this week to find some freedom, set down the things that feel heavy to carry, and create space.
