Movement for Mental Health

You might say "yes" to a free outdoor yoga class simply because your schedule is open. But once you're there, you realize just how much your mind and body needed the sunshine on your face, the grass beneath your feet, the view of the clouds passing by the leaves during savasana and the joy of moving alongside a community sharing smiles and hugs.

By showing up for ourselves, we are often showing up for each other without even realizing it. A simple smile or a warm "hello" might be exactly what someone else needs after a tough day. Your presence & positive energy next to them in class could be the very thing that makes them feel rejuvenated and want to return.

When our mental and emotional spaces get overwhelmed by modern life, sorting through the noise feels impossible. Sometimes, the best place to start is with the physical body, releasing the tension we can actually feel. It is usually after we stretch, breathe, and move that we realize our minds have loosened up, too.

Let’s continue to show up for ourselves. Doing so gives the people around us permission to do the same. It is okay not to be okay. Let's remind ourselves and each other that tomorrow is always a new day, bringing a fresh sunrise and a new perspective.
