A Strong Yoga Practice

A Strong Yoga Practice

A strong yoga practice should be defined as the shapes themselves. Of course, that is a big piece of this practice, and might be the state of your current practice!

But the real practice comes with dedication to keep showing up for yourself even when it feels hard. Not just physically, but also when your mind is struggling.

A strong practice chooses gentle or restorative yoga when you would normally choose power or active, because you have pushed yourself in other ways all week.

A strong practice includes taking note of the way you talk to yourself when your balance is off, or when an instructor mentions a pose you don't normally love.

A strong practice allows softness and stillness to weave in and out of your breath, your expectation of yourself, and your shapes, to help round out our sharp or rough edges.

A strong practice CAN include building foundational strength and challenging yourself in shapes that build confidence, mobility and endurance for your overall health and wellness.

Listen to your body AND your mental state, each day, without judgement or comparison. The true strength comes in consistency. Show up for yourself today. And then again tomorrow. Look for a circle that supports and encourages this.
